Innovative Pier Facilities
Barrier-free Facilities

The provision of appropriate barrier-free facilities on the piers enables the people with different needs to use the piers and travel on vessels conveniently. The barrier-free facilities include braille map, tactile guide path and tactile warning strip, visual display panels and ramps.

Floating Pontoons

In addition to the conventional landing steps, we will provide floating pontoons at the side of the piers where the water is calm and safe for vessel berthing, public embarkation and disembarkation. The vessels and the public could use the pier at different tide levels as the floating pontoons will move vertically and steadily along with the tide level to maintain a constant freeboard with the vessels.

Renewable Energy

To protect our living environment, we will make good use of renewable energy and reduce carbon emissions. We will install appropriate renewable energy facilities on the pier, such as solar panels on the canopy of the piers. The amount and types of renewable energy facilities to be installed are subject to the electrical consumption of the lighting system on the pier.

Wi-Fi

Whenever practical, we will provide Wi-Fi service within the pier area to facilitate the use of wireless network service by the public.
